Root: 1 Wine

Rootwine_6

I'm such a sucker for wine labels. I love all the different
personalities, shapes, illustrations, etc. I can actually spend hours
in a wine shop just looking at the labels. In fact, I buy wine based on
the label design. Sad, but true.

Turner Duckworth
has designed a smart, and beautiful label for Root: 1 Wine. The wine is
made from the original ungrafted Cabernet Sauvignon rootstock...
extinct in Europe, and found only in Chile. The label celebrates this
fact in both design and story. The root, the vines, and the hint of a
glass is just lovely.

Your post made me smile and think "me too" ; )
Hi Lisa, I'm glad I'm not the only one! Thanks.

It is funny how first impressions make such an impact when "shopping" for wine. I imagine a good majority of wine buyers purchase based the label design. This one appealed to me as a wine enthusiast as reserved and respecting of the origin of the grapes. I even found the wine to be worthy of the packaging..

Great stuff and Cheers!

as a designer, and wine lover, i recently learned (from a marketing expert) that when choosing wine there are 3 criteria used by the average consumer (who is not a wine aficionado); label design is #3.
