Menu Gift Boxes

Menubox1At Gift Fair, since the emphasis is naturally on the products themselves, the packaging is often hidden away. Creative Danes’ booth was like this. Out on display were products from Menu A/S: a colorful series of rubber vases, organically shaped terracotta oil lamps, and other modernist housewares. But tucked onto the shelves underneath were some very nice gift boxes that these products come in.

Dark on the outside, photogenic on the inside, these Cinderella-like boxes perhaps don’t get the attention they deserve.

(A couple more Menu boxes after the jump...)

Simply Cornish

Simplycornish1_3

A range of cookies, or biscuits as we call them in the UK, have been designed by Absolute Design. In their words:

"The brand elements were designed by the team at Absolute to evoke a strong sense of luxury as well as a local identity. Which is why the five launch products including strawberry and clotted cream shortbread, Cornish fairings, and apple and honey mead biscuits are all packaged in beautiful boxes depicting black and white images of local coastal scenes, by celebrated photographer Charles Roff.

The packaging also gives novel ideas on how to sample the biscuits by blending tastes instead of merely trying them on their own, such as 'try me with some Cornish Yarg' or 'why not crumble me over ice cream'.

The intention of the Simply Cornish brand within the market place is to compete with other local heritage brands but on a national level and to build a recognisable identity which can be applied to a multitude of products from food to merchandise, for future product expansion plans."

Milk gone bad (lamp)

Milkgonebad_page

Two different artistic experiences come together in this project. Anatomicfactory’s objects meet Bombo’s illustrations, giving us food for thought on the ambiguity of products that often have a hidden second nature. “Milk Gone Bad” is a collection of eight lamps somewhere between toys and furnishing complements. Made like milk cartons, each piece is one of a series. The light turns on to show the product’s real contents, a startling imaginary world of mold.

Bellwether

Webbellwether

Bellwether Farms packaging has a really authentic look that reminds me of an old-fashioned European creamery. The medieval style line illustration, spare graphics (with unadorned type) and cream background color all add up to an authentic brand identity for a dairy company. Designed by Mark Oliver, Inc.
