Camitz Vodka CO2

Camitzvodka

Camitz Vodka CO2 is one of a new breed of sparkling vodkas. The difference with Swedish-made Camitz is the CO2 derived during the distillation process is used the make the bubbles - so the taste is unadulterated. With delicate champagne-like bubbles and utterly transparent bottle, Camitz is an elegant new take on vodka.

Pati Nunez Associats

Cioccolati

Pati Nunez Associats is a design studio based in Barcelona, her style is minimalistic but delicate, she works both in packaging and in corporate identity, always maintaining a soft.
The use of typography is calibrated and studied. One of the things I appreciated most is the use of materials in order to obtain several layers on which the graphics are divided.

Baxter of California - Flammable

Jasmincandle

From the press release: "Baxter of California, the premium men’s grooming line since 1965, expands into the home fragrance category with the introduction of “Flammable,” a series of three soy wax-based candles. Produced in partnership with Joya, a trailblazer in the home fragrance design industry, with packaging design by international art director Marc Atlan, the candles will be available at lifestyle stores, apothecaries, grooming lounges, spas and online at baxterofcalifornia.com in June. "

"Marc, who has designed iconic packaging for Comme des Garçons, Helmut Lang and Yves Saint-Laurent, describes his design for “Flammable” as a “conceptual and chic understatement.” The glass is slightly old-fashioned and reminiscent of an expensive single malt lowball tumbler, which is extremely masculine. Graphic dots, echoing the glass dimples on the bottom of the vessel are silk-screened all over the glass that are revealed as the black wax burns. With close attention to detail, Atlan added a grid pattern of dots that are embossed around the box. The under-designed running block of black foiled text becomes the cement thatholds his blatantly irreverent text together."

Patricia Field

Field_coke

Sex and the City, the movie, opens nation-wide in just 1 week. (Finally!) For some unknown reason, it was released in London first. To go along with the London-launch, Patricia Field (fashion genius behind the show) designed 4 limited-edition bottles of Diet Coke to be sold exclusively in Selfridges.

Bee Raw

Beeraw2

I'm just back from the HOW Design Conference in Boston, MA. It was a whirlwind of networking, design, talks and... exhaustion. But it was also insightful and inspiring. I brought back a few nuggets of design that I would like to share.

The first is Bee Raw Honey. The product, each made from a single variety of flower, is simple in it's essence. The design is equally simplistic, and does not detract from the color and light of the product itself. You can purchase jars, or adorable "test-tube" tasters. I would buy these just to have them grace my kitchen shelves.
