This is cool but that seems like a lot of material and use of space to store the contents.

The presentation and feelings evoked by the packaging are the contents. When you buy something you're buying everything that comes with it and unique cool packaging really can heighten the experience of a purchase.

@jack-
i totally agree! that's why so many companies spend so much money on researching packaging. they want something that grabs the customer-- this definitely does it!
very cool!

Nice packaging, based on the Nintendo Entertainment System - a truly legendary games console!

The pixart version of Beck looks like it was based on a character from Lucasfilm Games' first adventure game, Maniac Mansion. It brings back some great memories.

So perfect for Beck's music that includes so many samples from that era. Great design!

I wonder if the cartridges are recycled? Maybe someone needs to try and peel the Beck sticker off of it and see what is hidden underneath. If it is an old, used cartridge, who cares about how much material is being used?

would be even cooler if it were an actual NES cartridge that had the music on it (assuming the music is written for the NES specifically, or can be represented on the NES. 5 channels isn't much tho.)
