New packaging for Traidcraft tissues sent in and designed by Susie from Studio Blackburn in London:
"My client is called Traidcraft, they are a UK based charity which was set up in 1979 to help fight poverty through trade, practising and promoting approaches to trade that help poor people in developing countries transform their lives. They build lasting relationships with producers, support people to trade out of poverty and work to bring about trade justice. They are also the biggest producers of fairtrade products in the UK. Basically they are all-round good eggs!
I am redesigning all of their packaging and have just completed a redesign of their recycled tissue range. Most recycled tissue brands show images of nature because that is what their products are helping conserve, they can’t say anything else as they don’t do anything else, Traidcraft does a lot more and that is their point of difference. They can say a lot more – this is why I designed the packs using speech bubbles to communicate directly with the consumer. Therefore the tissue range design borrows from category cues but has that extra layer. The design concept emphasizes, still in an engaging way, the fact that each person who buys this product can help make a difference. Getting the message across whilst having a bit of fun."

"The copy focuses on the positive aspects of this product, using play on words to link to the products’ use. Hopefully grabbing people's attention and drawing them in to find out more.
I worked with a wonderful copywriter called Nick Rootes and as I'm sure you can imagine coming up with witty yet 'clean' messages to go on the front of the loo-roll packs wasn't that easy!"
